R.Kelly to remain jailed for 1 or 2 more days after bail set at $1m

After the 52-year-old R &B star was charged with sexually abusing four females, including three underage girls, a judge in the U.S. has set R.Kelly's bail at $1m equivalent to £766,500 on Saturday.

Robert Sylvester Kelly, popularly know as R.Kelly surrendered himself to the police on Friday after issuance of arrest warrant. His bail was set as $1m but 10% which is $100,000 is all he needs to post to secure his release.

As reported by BBC, the judge chairing Saturday hearing was John Fitzgerald Luke Jr, who presided over last week's bail hearing for actor Jussie Smollett.

Jussie's allegation is staging a hate crime against himself.

Steve Greenberg who is Kelly's lawyer says Kelly may not get out of jail until Monday or Tuesdays as the payment will be organised between Monday and Tuesday.

Kelly faces 10 sexual abuse counts and he has always been denying this through his attorney. Although the Grammy award winner could get his freedom pending a  sex abuse trial if the 10% is paid.

R.Kelly has faced some sexual allegations in the past but he has always been released.
