The news about Jussie being attacked by two men was reported on January 2019.  However, some disturbing hints has been revealed due to continuous police investigation. According to Chicago Police, the Empire star rehearsed his own attack with the two brothers, the police claimed that Jussie paid the two men that are brothers to plan the attack. Chicago police said they have evidence that Jussie planned his own attack. The two brothers that are Nigerians Abel and Ola Osundairo were released by the police on Friday, Feb. 15, though, they are still cooperating with the cops. Cops discovered that the rope that was put around the actor's neck was purchased during the attack. The two brothers are said to have played extras on Empire for the past few years, so they are not strangers to Jussie. "It feels like if I had said it was a Muslim or a Mexican or someone black, I feel like the doubters would have supported me a lot much more", Jussie said this on Good Morni

As reported by TMZ, police raided the home of two persons of interest in Jussie Smollett attack  last night. The two men are reportedly Nigerians and have featured as extras on "Empire". Two laptops, 5 bottles of bleach, aired hat and other materials were seized from the men. Chicago PD has identified the two men as the same men that appeared in the surveillance video. When the news about the attack was first reported, Smollett sources claimed the Empire actor identified the attackers as white men. It has not been cleared if the men from Nigeria are white men or black men. The two men were reported to have traveled out of the country the night after the attack but they were back to U.S. on Wednesday. Chicago PD are still on the investigation and Smollett is being interviewed again. According to TMZ, Smollett was also brought in Thursday morning for further interview. Smollett gave essential phone records  from the night he was attacked to  Chicago Cops , however, the phone records have been disapproved because they are not considered authentic. "The records submitted were "limited and heavily redacted", police said.  A representative for Smollett says, "Jussie is the victim here, which has been stated by the Superintendent of Police. Jussie has voluntarily provided his phone records from within an hour of the attack and given multiple statements to police. Chicago PD has reportedly informed us that they find Jussie's account of what happened that night consistent and credible". The representative stated that Jussie's loved ones are working with Chicago PD and they believe that the attackers will soon be located. The President when addressing some issues from the Oval Office  on Thursday morning was asked about the "Empire" actor's attack and he said, "it's horrible". "That I can tell you it's horrible. I have seen it last night. It doesn't get worse, as far as I'm concerned", he said. That was quite a short reply as he didn't say much about the attack. Although, the President wasn't asked to elaborate more on the case. He wasn't asked about the MAGA statement. It was earlier reported that  Smollett was attacked and he is now hospitalized . Smollett was spotted on video surveillance camera walking on the opposite side of the street at two persons of interest, as reported by Rob Elgas, a reporter. Elgas said both Smollett and the persons of interest then walk off camera. According to the reporter, Jussie remained unsighted on the camera for almost 60 seconds. He resurfaced on video surveillance going in to a condo building with street salt on his sweater and rope around his neck. Smollett arrives at a friend's place where cops met him for report. The Police just revealed an image that has to do with the  alleged assault attack from surveillance camera, but the image only reveals the shadow of the persons of interest. According to TMZ, law enforcement detectives have checked video footage in the environment where the incident happened and until now, haven't found a mark of the Smollett assailants. It was earlier reported by TMZ that the "Empire" star Jussie Smollett is being injured in an homophobic attack and he is now hospitalized. According to TMZ Smollett arrived in Chicago from New York late on Monday. He went to a Subway around 2am, someone shouted at him when he walked out, " Aren't you that f***ot Empire n****? As reported, there were two white men wearing ski masks that attacked Smollett, he fought back but he reportedly suffered a fractured rib. The attackers also poured him bleach after putting a rope around his neck. They shouted, "This is a MAGA country". Smollett was taken to Northwestern Memorial hospital and he is receiving treatment at present. Meanwhile, TMZ recently reported that the " Empire" star didn't want to surround himself with many bodyguards when he wasn't at work. According to sources close to the star, his security was reportedly increased last week after an homophobic letter which was
