Oyo Reps member, Olatoye Sugar shot dead

A serving House of Representatives member in Oyo State, Temitope Olatoye, popularly known as 'sugar', who is representing Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency was reportedly shot dead by unknown gunmen. According to Sunday Vanguard, an information from a reliable source stated that the Honourable was shot in the eye at Iyana-Agbala area of Ibadan on Saturday. Sugar's younger brother, Oladotun revealed that Sugar was truly shot and was rushed to University College Hospital Ibadan (UCH), he died few hours later. Olatoye is said to have died at the Intensive Care Unit of UCH, Ibadan on Saturday, March 9. The spokesman of the hospital, Toye Akinrinola said Sugar died from gunshot wound. Clinton stepped aside from visiting Nigeria, says he wish Nigeria well

Former U.S. President, Bill Clinton who was expected to visit Nigeria to manage Wednesday's peace pact signing ceremony between the two leading candidates, President Buhari and Atiku Abubakar has stepped aside. However, he has decided to stay away from visiting Nigeria following grumblings  here and there in Nigeria that the visit could be politically misinterpreted. Clinton however has wished Nigeria well. The United Kingdom (UK) has repeated that it regards Nigeria's self-government and that the country would not intrude into Nigeria's internal affairs. According to the British high commissioner to Nigeria, Ms Catriona Laing, UK would be installing over 100 viewers to cover 15 states in Nigeria during the general election which is coming up soon in the country. Former US secretary "John Kerry" tells Trump to resign

John Kerry , the former Secretary of State, when speking on a CNBC panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, made the announcement that Trump should "resign", when asked his message for President Donald Trump. At first, Kerry hesitated to give an answer, when he was asked to leave a message for Donald Trump, he said " Trump doesn't take any of this seriously, he doesn't have the ability to have that kind of conversation". In 2016, China's government increased the limit to two children to restore the world's most populous country, that has almost 1.4 billion people, and experts say it may release the cap next year. FG borrowed over N6trn from pension fund

About N6.16 trillion out of the N8.49 trillion pension asset under the Contributory Pension Scheme has been borrowed by the Federal Government. This was revealed by the National Pension Commission (NPC) on Tuesday in Abuja. It was reported by the pension commission that the Federal Government's borrowing signifies 72.5% of the pension fund. The Pension Fund Administrators also spent 6.87% or N584.321bn of the fund in domestic ordinary shares and 0.71% or N60.529bn of the fund was spent in foreign ordinary shares, according to data from PenCom. The commission stated that, it maintained its consultative ideology in running and management of the industry, said the risk-based examination approach was created as a means of boosting clarity and creating awareness as well as stimulating pension operators to frequently self-analyze their roles. Vice-president Yemi osinbajo while speaking at a conference in Abuja on Wednesday, said fake news are capable of resulting in great adverse effects.
