U.S imposes visa restrictions on Ghana

On Thursday, the United States declared it was imposing visa restrictions on Ghana, as reported by Reuters. The U.S is accusing Ghana of failure to cooperating in accepting its citizens ordered cleared from the U.S. According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), "U.S Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has commanded consular officers in Ghana to ensure visa restrictions on some sections of visa applicants". The statement further stated that, " without an effective reply from the African country (Ghana), the aim of this regulation may further reach a large population in the country ". DHL Secretary, Kristjen Nielsen stated that, "Ghana has disappointed for not living up to its rules under international law to accept the return of its nationals ordered cleared from the United States". "We think the Ghanaian government will make effort with us to settle these issue as soon as possible", Nielsen said.

Population growth in China crawls regardless of two-child policy

In 2016, China's government increased the limit to two children to restore the world's most populous country, that has almost 1.4 billion people, and experts say it may release the cap next year. Certain American Spaces will remain open - says U.S embassy in Nigeria

A statement from the information office, Public Affairs Section, Abuja, for the - USCGLagosinformationSection, on Wednesday says that - "American spaces, such as American Corners operated by partner institutions and located off embassy or consulate grounds, however will remain open". U.S embassy in Nigeria is closed as a result of Government shutdown The statement further clarified that American centers and Education USA offices operating on embassy and consulate grounds which are managed by Mission Public Affairs Section will be closed as far as the government shut down action lasts. The U.S embassy however, has taken this information to its website.

        The U.S embassy has announced on its website and also on a facebook post that- 'Due to the current U.S government shut down, the America centers located in the Embassy, Abuja and Consulate General, Lagos are unfortunately closed. They will re-open once the U.S government shut down is resolved. Sorry for any inconvenience to our valued patrons'. This is due to president Donald Trump's inability to get support of the U.S congress in the building of Mexican wall.
