Actor Albert Finney dead at 82


A family member told the reporters that Albert died after a brief undisclosed illness. According to the family members, the actor died peacefully with loved ones by his side.


Albert was born on May 9, 1936 and passed away on February 7, 2019. He was an English actor.


Albert was known for his role in Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, he was one of the British actors who hit the screen in the 1960s in the U.S.


Albert received five Oscar nominations, though he didn't win any, but the nominations were amazing - Best Supporting Actor for "Erin Brockovich", the titular role in "Tom Jones", Best Actor in "The Dresser", "Murder on the Orient Express" and "Under the Volcano".

He got a Golden  Globe and an Emmy for the 2002  miniseries, "
The Gathering Storm". He started working in the theatre as a Shakespearean actor before switching to film, his first movie, "The Entertainer" was in the early 1960s.


Albert also won a Golden Globe for playing the iconic role, Ebenezer Scrooge, in the 1970s film, "Scrooge".


He had a significant role in the "Big Fish". In 2012, he acted a role in "Skyfall" which happened to be his most recent acting role.


Albert was 82, he was married thrice and had one son.
