Emiliano Sala Funeral : Family and Friends said Adieu

Sala's funeral was held on Saturday, February 16, 2019. The farewell started with a wake in the gym of Sala's soccer boyhood club, San Martín de Progress, in the Argentinian province of Santa Fe.

Majority of the villagers joined Sala's family for the funeral of Emiliano who grew up in a nearby Cululu and happened to be a star.

According to Walesonline, Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock said, "Things like this don't happen very often. You can't really understand the emotions of the family, but the thing today is how united they all are".

"It's been very difficult for everyone but more for his mother - Mercedes, sister- Romina and the brother".

"It's been very moving in there. Mercedes has been an amazing woman. She's been fantastic. The whole village is really united and I think it brings it home to you just how important family are".

"The father has been emotional too but I think they have comfort in the fact that it can at least have a closure".

A banner was placed outside that stated, "Emi, nunca caminaras soloà", - "Emi, you will never walk alone".

A neighbour said, " I believe God needed a number nine up there. Now he has it".

Romina earlier took to Facebook "Tell me it's a nightmare, Emi, come back please brother, please. Love you so much".

Sala's aunt Mirta Taffarel said, "I would like to find a responsible person, someone who says to me, 'This happened' but, well, it seems this was just an accident".

The striker's body was located in the wreckage of plane that had gone missing and was later found.

Sala was traveling to Cardiff to connect with his new team along with David Ibbotson, the pilot who is still missing.

A campaign to raise funds to find the missing pilot is now up to £240,000. The 59-year-old's family are hoping to locate his body. The family are still relying on kindhearted people to help raise more funds to help locate the the beloved Husband, Father and Son.

As we hope to find Mr Ibbotson soon... Adieu Emiliano.
